Math Basecamp by Legends of Learning

Legends of Learning is on a mission to make learning fun, accessible, and effective. Math Basecamp, Legends of Learning’s engaging math fluency application, reinforces foundational skills and builds fact mastery using research-based processes and game-based learning.

Math Basecamp increases students’ conceptual understanding by helping them move fact-family knowledge from working memory to long-term memory, all within an engaging game-based learning format that celebrates success. Students’ math achievement and confidence will increase as they progress through engaging activities on their own individualized journey to fact mastery. Math Basecamp supports conceptual understanding (before fact mastery) and reinforces applications of fact mastery to promote deeper conceptual and abstract learning in preparation for more complex operations.

When students use Math Basecamp three times per week for 15 to 20 minutes at a time, they can acquire all of their facts in a few weeks to a few months.

How it Works:

1. Each student’s experience begins with a diagnostic test that establishes a competency baseline level from which the game builds.

2. Legends of Learning’s new Math Fluency Program activates prior knowledge and strengthens recall.

3. Students are gradually introduced to new math facts while practicing known math facts.

4. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are practiced until students can recall facts effortlessly.
